If you were to find crisps that seemed more like cakes or biscuits, with a shape not derived from nature, then I assure you, they would not be crisps. At least so says the British tax court.

Sound like nonsense? Well, one thing I’m sure you always thought were crisps turns out not to be! I’m talking about none other than PRINGLES. I am not a fan of Pringles, but they have been around me for as long as I can remember. I remember how I would make little toys out of empty Pringles’ packages. I also remember when my friends and I had a Pringle-armed battle. And I’ve always felt that there’s something odd about Pringles – their taste, colour and that odd old man drawn on the package- but I’ve never imaged that Pringles weren’t crisps but instead non-crisps that look like crisps.
