The Prada II Phone

2008-11-20 by Jessica

I’ve already admitted that my $20 cell phone that allows me to send texts, make and receive phone calls, calculate tips, and set an alarm clock is probably more than outdated. I’m not someone who goes gaga for gadgets, but there are a few that I would actually call sexy: Ferrari Testarossas, flat screens (although as they are the norm now they are losing their mystique for me), and Prada phones. Mac gadgets are sleek, I’ll give them that, but I don’t think I’d go as far as to say they are sexy.
Anyway, the product in question today is the soon to be released Prada II phone. This phone is set to launch in Europe at the end of November or for the Christmas season, but no one seems to be pinning down a date, which maybe should make Prada fans worry they’ll be waiting longer. And for those of us on this side of the Atlantic, what does that mean? More time to save up!

Please fix the iPhone

2008-10-24 by Jessica

Do you have an iPhone? Was it more than worth the long lines and months of anticipation? If you were to bump into Steve Jobs today (probably not at a discount shoe store, right?), is there anything about your iPhone that you would ask him to fix for you? The customer is always right, right?

Or, do you not have one, but want one? Have you been avoiding buying an iPhone until certain “bugs” are worked out?

Well, now you’ve got a voice: pleasefixtheiphone.com. This website is a customer-made To-Do list for Steve Jobs and Co. You can submit your own concern, or vote on what other’s have already written! The list is already 809 items long (and growing) and over 100,000 people have voted on what drives them most nuts about the iPhone.

I enjoyed my brief visit to the website, if only because it alerted me to the fact that my $20 phone with its text, phone call, calculator, and alarm clock options is more than outdated! Apparently I’m missing out on all sorts of functions, but I was relieved to know that even the fancy pants iPhone prevents its customers from synching with iTunes from their kitchen tables, just like mine does…whatever that means.

iBeer: drink your iPhone!

2008-07-31 by Reina

You can do a lot of great things with your iPhone. Phone someone, for example. But did you know that you can also drink beer with it? Well, of course it’s not real beer, but iBeer.
The iPhone has built-in sensors so you can drink your beer from your screen just by tilting the phone… even the bubbles look pretty real, and you can get the application for 2.99 Dollars only. An option for non-drinkers is the iMilk.
It doesn’t serve a purpose, I admit, but anyway it’s fun. And having fun is something very important for everyone. Isn’t it?

An iPhone a day keeps Steve Jobs away

2008-06-09 by Cordula

Tonight Steve Jobs will give one of his famous keynote speeches and present the new iPhone. We thought that was a good occasion to have a look at how Apple handles its communication, and after some stubborn research we managed to get hold of a top-secret flow-chart made by Mac. This document proves how thouroughly Apple makes sure that the right information is passed by the right people to the right audience at the right time… We trust you, so if you promise you won’t tell anyone, we’ll show it to you.
