Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince: Movie Launch Postponed
2008-08-25 by CordulaFans of Harry Potter books and films had been eagerly awaiting November 2008. Why? Because the launch of the movie “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” (the screen adaptation of the sixth and second-to-last book in the Harry Potter series) was announced for November 21st. However, the release date for the film has now been pushed back to July 17, 2009.
The official reason for this is the 2007–2008 Writers Guild of America strike which lasted over 3 months and caused production delays. However, rumor has it that releasing the movie next summer will lead to much higher revenues. And this in view of the fact that the first Harry Potter movies have already generated $4.4 billion!
Luckily the trailer is already out, so you can at least catch a glimpse of what is in store for July of next year. And why not read the books again in the meantime?
