Absinthe gummi bears - not recommended for children

d7f2f0e287109c58f9192e717362ffbd.jpgHaribo gummi bears have always been my favourite sweets, ever since my childhood, and later they were a great consolation under my pillow in strange cities. But enough of these personal stories.

Science and technology have now created a true beauty in heavenly green. The two bartenders, or maybe rather mad scientists (positively speaking) Sam Mason and Eben Freeman made my dream come true and transformed absinthe, a (possibly hallucinogenic) liquor, into a lovely edible (!) gummi bear! Now this cute little sweet is not only soothing but contains 85% absinthe. My friendly gummi bear will bring me a green fairy and make me a poet like Rimbaud or a painter like Toulouse-Lautrec…

Gummi bears are probably one of the main characteristics of our generation. You get them everywhere, in every (im)possible shape, size and taste, and actually I can’t think of anyone our age who doesn’t like them…
Our fascination with this recent species of Ursidae is so profound that Jason Freeny has conducted some research on gummi bear anatomy and found out what they look like inside. Liver, lung, spinal column and jugular veins, it’s all there…
