The first ever 2 in 1 sneakers

2008-07-15 by Reina

Even though I don’t like Sex and the City, I completely understand why Carrie Bradshaw collected Manolo Blahnik shoes until she went broke. Yes. Yes. Yes! Shoes are essential and oh so useful. For example, when you have a lot of shoes, then each morning you can step into whatever color and style fit your mood.

However, when you are traveling, shoes are pretty heavy and take up heaps of space. So, for a while now, I’ve been thinking about inventing high heels with removable heels so that I could wear flats from time to time.

It seems that I’m one step behind, however. Young German designers have come out with something far crazier than I ever dreamed up. It’s called “Nat-2interchangeableduofunctionshoe.” If you’re having a hard time dividing up that monster word, let me explain it to you in plain English. Basically, you can make flip flops out of sneakers…with just a zipper. How does it work? These photos explain it far better than I can.

This crazy combination won the Innovation & Design Award 2007. I don’t wear sneakers often, but I really want to go and grab a pair of these right now!

Spring ist finally here! And maybe you have already wondered why you did not receive our March newsletter? Easy question, easy answer: because there wasn’t one. From now on we are going to send you the newsletter at the very beginning of each month!

- When did you start blogging?
I’ve been blogging since around 2000: I started way back in the days when blogs were called “online journals” and were all coded by hand!

- Why did you start blogging? What does blogging give you in daily life?
I started blogging because I was working as a newspaper journalist at the time, and blogging seemed like a natural extension of that. What does it give me in daily life? Well, a lot of hard work, for a start, but also the opportunity to make a living writing about things I love, and to meet like-minded people.
