Firefox Day on June 17 2008 – help to set a Guinness world record

2008-06-13 by Cordula

firefox_dday_badge_stages.pngYou wonder why websites sometimes look bizarre on your computer? It might be because you are using the wrong browser. You are probably working with Microsoft Internet Explorer? Ah, that’s the problem. If that’s the case it’s time to switch to Mozilla Firefox! Yes, we are doing a bit of promotion here, but we assure you that it’s honest, pure word of mouth – personally I find Firefox much more convenient, practical and reliable than Internet Explorer. And statistics will show you that I am not the only one.

If you wait with the download until Tuesday next week, you can participate in an effort topanda.jpg enter the Guinness Book of Records. Mozilla invites everyone to download Firefox 3 on Firefox Day on June 17 2008, to surpass the record number of one million downloads in one day.

PS: Did you ever wonder why Firefox is called Firefox? It’s named after the red panda, a bamboo-munching mammal about the size of a huge cat that is endemic to the Himalayas. Unfortunately the species is endangered due to habitat fragmentation (yes, I studied biology). So how about making June 17 red panda protection day? Or, even better, how about showing some corporate social responsibility and protecting your namesake, Mozilla? Or would you like to bear the name of an extinct animal one day?
