When the women of Wisteria Lane came into your lives, I was in Japan watching Japanese game shows, monkeys playing soccer with children, and Full House re-runs. Boy did I ever miss out! The closest I got to that first season was when I saw Laura Bush say, “At 9pm, Mr. Exciting here is sound asleep…ladies and gentlemen, I am a Desperate Housewife.” How exactly the leader of the free world gets to bed before elementary students is beyond me, but that’s not what this post is about.

When I finally got a taste of the show, long after it had already become an instant hit, I just couldn’t believe how MUCH could be squeezed into one 42 minute episode. Or how often people died in this completely non-violent TV show. My roommate in France and I used to watch the show together, always joking that if we left the show for 10 minutes, we’d be sure to miss a death.

Well, 5 seasons later the 5 stars are still alive and well and here to bring us what is supposed to be an even better season that ever before. I’m sure you’ll be glued to your screens for ABC’s “NATIONAL STAY AT HOME WEEK” because this season’s season premiere has a LOT of explaining to do.
