Surviving meetings: how (not) to motivate your team
2008-06-04 by GuillaumeHere at BuzzParadise we often work under pressure, with extremely tight deadlines. When someone asks us about our working schedule, we usually enjoy saying “The deadline was yesterday”
One of the consequences is that it is sometimes difficult to persuade everyone to come to our “strategic meetings”, as people usually prefer to work on their own projects rather than “lose” hours in long discussions…
So we asked our Human Resources Manager to find a way to get people involved in our meetings. He actually came up with some new “management techniques” which have proved to be quite efficient, but are probably much too extreme …
OK, sorry, of course that was a joke, but anyway the guys at www.survivingmeetings.com are not that crazy, and they’re actually planning to help us for our future meetings. I quote: “There is a better way to get people involved”. It seems that the revelation will take place next Monday, so you can rely on me to get you updated.
