On July 1st, 2008, Bill Gates officially retired. I happened to go to Baidu (the biggest search engine in China) to search the Chinese news that morning. Once there, I saw that Baidu’s logo had changed to the one found here in this article. That’s when I realized Bill had been chosen as Baidu’s “renwu” (person) of July.

I personally think Bill made a wise decision. As the logo shows, he will step out of his role in Microsoft, and open another window for himself, likely becoming a legend in a completely unrelated field. And as we all know, Bill will be devoting himself and his money to charity, working even more with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

But besides that, as a man who completely dedicated himself to the digital world for more than 30 years, Bill now gets some time to try things he’s never had the time or opportunity to try before. Maybe music, movies, body building, or maybe even all of them. Check out this video!
