The “must see” baby of the year

2008-08-12 by Reina

In conventional theory, parents wait for the birth of their child, which is usually seen as a blessing event, and the parents are happy to send birth announcements to their relatives.

But for your special baby, you need something that is special. Photos and cards are too common? The site movietrailerbirthannouncements.com provides birth announcements you have never seen before.

If you want more than just a trailer, you can even create a customized 5 star baby poster.

A birthday comes every year, but your birth happens only once in your life, so why don’t you try to create some special features for your baby? Warning: only if you are ready for a baby, though.

First pregnant man in the world in Oprah Winfrey’s talk show

2008-04-14 by Cordula

Life is full of surprises. We all know that, but some things are just more unbelievable than others. Six months ago, an American discovered that he was the first pregnant man in the world!
An April fool’s joke? Apparently not. Thomas Beatie, who used to be a woman before undergoing gender reassignment surgery, appeared on Oprah Winfrey’s talk show one week ago and talked to her about this “miracle”. He explained that the surgery had not altered his reproductive organs and that his wife Nancy couldn’t have children.

Unfortunately the interview is no longer available on YouTube but here’s an extract from BBC News:

It’s not for us to judge, and after all, what’s unusual about wanting to have children? The baby is reported to be completely healthy, and as Mr Beatie says: “Different is normal and love makes a family. And that’s all that matters.” Of course he is right there, even if this may still turn out to be a prank… we’ll keep you posted! (Check out our blog in 3 month!)
