Mugen Edamam - bubble wrap and fake soybeans

2008-05-08 by Reina dans What we like

If you were at Fanny’s party last month in Paris, I’m sure you know what Bandai Puchi Puchi is. If however you have no idea what on earth that could be you now have a good chance to check out the latest MUST HAVE item from Japan!

Maybe Darwin was right. It is all about evolution. So, for you who think that Mugen Puchi Puchi just wasn’t enough, a new generation of infinite bubble wrap is waiting for you. Mugen Edamame (Infinite Soybeans) from Bandai Asovision are another spin-off from the hugely popular Mugen Puchi Puchi (an infinite bubble wrap simulator toy) that was introduced in 2007.

Mugen Edamame is not really bubble wrap, and you can’t eat it, but it’ll last forever. It looks like a plastic soybean and by pushing the beans inside the pod, each one pops out individually and shows one of twelve random faces (the faces are pre-set but randomly packaged), with characters ranging from “old man bean” to “surprised bean”.

Of course, the same people who will buy these fake soybeans would probably throw a fit if their moms asked them to peel some REAL soybeans for dinner, yet they’ll happily “peel” them all day long for fun.
