Journalist for one day at LaTribune.fr : an assessment

A few weeks ago, for twenty or so bloggers the doors to paradise were opened (oops, not to paradise, because they are already in there!… but almost… Each of them had the privilege to write an article published on the first page of the online newspaper LaTribune.fr.

Here is the list of the articles published in the new column “La Tribune des bloggers“.

To successfully finish this operation, the 23 columnists for one day were invited by Olivier Provost, chief editor of LaTribune.fr and Pascal Laroche, multimedia director, to a meeting at the editorial office.

The meeting took place in an atmosphere just like the whole operation: an open, animated and interactive dialogue concerning the integration of a web 2.0 campaign into the strategy of a prestigious newspaper like LaTribune.fr. This collaboration between journalists and bloggers might continue and evolve!


The Marketing Show under the sun of Madrid

On the 10th and 11th of May, Madrid hosted the Marketing Show, a symposium on news and trends in the fields of marketing and communication.

The speakers were representatives of the biggest advertising agencies worldwide (M&C Saatchi, Double You, Universal Mc Cann…), of huge web solution providers (Technorati, Google, Windows Live…) and a handful of international advertisers (HP, Nokia…), gathered at the television studios of Antena 3. BuzzParadise were also present at this inescapable meeting to discover and share the speakers’ expertise as regards web 2.0 - and to enjoy the sun, am I right, Juan? ;)

They discussed subjects like consumer commitment and the concept of the effect of experience in consumer’s behavior, the exponential role of blogs as mini-media or the relationship between bloggers and advertisers…

Amongst the lecturers, Xavier Lesueur presented the platform BuzzParadise, now the European leader in word-of-mouth marketing, and filled his speech with examples of campaigns launched in collaboration with bloggers. He also answered the questions of Tom Garrahan, director of the Marketing Show, about buzz marketing (no no, not about Luxembourg’s tropical climate).

To close these two days full of exchanges, professor Carney from the prestigious school of marketing Instituto Empresa surprised everyone when he arrived dressed like a hip hop singer and suggesting a workshop based on innovation.

The next Marketing Show will take place in Lisbon (marketers really like the sun!!!) at the end of this year to present What’s New, What’s Important, What’s Working… as regards marketing!

BuzzParadise at the International WOM Conference

As promised, here comes the report from the summit! After they had put their suitcases down, our two representatives in Amsterdam, Emmanuel and Grégory, told me about their adventures in the country of Béatrix, the Queen who loves to wear multicolored hats.

They did not bump into Béatrix, but much better: the international leading figures in the field of word-of-mouth marketing on the occasion of the International Word-of-Mouth Marketing Conference.

Gathered at the Center “De Zwijger” - which by the way paradoxically means “the one who remains silent”, a select group of 20 specialists working for platforms like BuzzParadise, Streetcom, Trnd or BzzAgent, talked about the return on investment expected by this kind of campaign, the future of the business…

A few representatives of big brands, who may have felt a bit lost between all these professionals of WOM marketing, attended an introduction by Emmanuel. He enlightened them on the basics of alternative marketing and explained why BuzzParadise’s positioning is different from our competitors’, but just as pertinent as theirs.

Beside these highly interesting discussions, the symposium was also a place to launch lively conversations with a lot of experts.

This third edition, after Barcelona and Hamburg, was exciting! If it takes place in Miami next time, I agree to represent BuzzParadise… A word to the wise! ;)


Show your talent and make your dream come true

You’re less than 30 years old? You are an expert or a fan of the media in the fields of radio and television, music, digital devices or press? You have lots of creative ideas, but you don’t know how to use them? You want to get your dreams off the ground?

This has almost been the credo of the Foundation Jean-Luc Lagardère for 18 years now. It awards the young and the talented, and helps them to launch their own media projects!

How? Each year, the Foundation awards 8 young authors from different disciplines with “Grants of Talent”. On the foundation’s 18th birthday, two more Grants were given to animated movie and documentary makers. So, now there are now 10 rewards :

- animated movie maker : 30,000 €
- writer : 25,000 €
- digital creator : 25,000 €
- press journalist : 10,000 €
- bookshop : 30,000 €
- documentary maker : 25,000 €
- musicien : 25.000 €
- photographer : 15,000 €
- movie maker : 50,000 €
- TV scriptwriter : 20,000 €

BuzzParadise’s mission was to inform you about this smart initiative. More than 1,000 BuzzAngels between 18 and 35 years, artists since a long time or just for one day, are invited to join the campaign and to apply before the 15th of June. They also have the exclusive possibility to discover the Lagardère Foundation’s funny videos during 3 days.

So, get creative! Good luck!


BuzzRevelation: The winners of the Exilim campaign

You’re all waiting with bated breath for the names of the people who have won a camera Exilim EX-V7, so I won’t keep you in suspense longer!

But before this, let’s quickly summarize the operation!
The campaign started with the story of Patrick P., a dedicated website and a mystery to be solved! What is Patrick’s problem? The most perceptive among you quickly discovered his grievance and the advertiser who launched this operation which has created large repercussions across the blogosphere!

The device that saved Patrick and allows him to approach people is a fantastic Casio Exilim EX-V7, very compact and elegant, fitted with a zoom and a resolution of 7.2 mega pixels.
